4. The cloud is a real-life cloud

Might be something invented by children, or might not, we are sure that a lot of us are feeling disappointed that the cloud is not actually a cloud. Can you imagine what it would have been like if all our photos, videos, passwords, and memories were wandering around in a giant, puffy and white cloud that floated above our heads? Too good to be true.

This cloud we are actually talking about can be compared with an enormous depository for data that is stored on a server, and then accessed using the Internet. This is the tool that makes it possible to get the same emails on your smartphone even when you are in another country. It’s the same as you were home, sitting on your laptop or any other device.

5. Routers and modems are exactly the same things

Routers and modems are usually kept under the same box, but they are not the same. Each one of them has its own specific functions. For example, modems are responsible for connecting the user to the Internet. Furthermore, they are decoding the signals that enter your house and turn it into something that can be used.

After that, routers come into play and they are the ones that turn the signals into Wi-Fi, so people can access it throughout their homes. You can not be connected online unless you have a modem. And if you don’t have a router, you can’t have a home network.
