7 Biggest Myths About COVID-19 Vaccine That Could Jeopardize Your Life

  1. It was developed to control us by implanting trackable microchips or nano transducers in our brains

Moving on to the sci-fi bit, there’s this rumor that the COVID-19 vaccine (no matter which one) is just a covert plan to control the general population. Conspiracy theorists and misinformation spreaders had a field day with this one.

According to this conspiracy theory, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is the mastermind behind this whole devious plan to control the world’s population. Despite the obvious lack of evidence, a survey involving 1,640 people suggested 28% of Americans believed Microsoft co-founder really wanted to use the vaccines for microchip tracking. The percentage is even higher among Republicans, with 44 percent believing the microchip claims.

  1. It will alter our DNA

“There is no nefarious or sinister plan to inject people with a labeling code,” argued Dr. Ogbuagu. “The mRNA vaccine is not integrated into the recipient’s genome.”

The first COVID-19 vaccines to be made available to the general public will probably be messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines. As explained by the CDC, this type of vaccine works by instructing the body to make a protein that is present on the coronavirus, in order for the body to build an immune response to the virus. “Injecting RNA into a person doesn’t do anything to the DNA of a human cell,” says Prof Jeffrey Almond of Oxford University. After the cells in the body use the instructions to produce antibodies against the protein, they eliminate the mRNA.

  1. I don’t know if the vaccine side effects will cause a problem for me. Everyone is different. I will deal with it if necessary.
