Instagram managed to anger its users back in 2012 when they found out that the new terms of service gave private companies the opportunity to buy people’s photos and use them for advertising purposes.

This change came shortly after the photo-sharing site was bought by Facebook.

Many people threatened to delete their accounts, so Instagram promised to revise their advertising terms and make it in a more transparent way.
