Google and the lifelike AI assistant
In 2018, Google developed Google Duplex, a new artificial intelligence assistant designed for interaction with businesses that only have phone connection.
The problem was that the AI assistant simulated human speech so well, that test subjects did not realize they were actually speaking to a robot. Google was accused of misleading people and the AI service was criticized as unethical.
