Bill made a pros&cons list before proposing
Being in charge of the world’s largest software business was no easy task and it left little time for Bill Gates to think of other aspects of his life, such as marriage. He was so involved in his business that he did not know if being committed to someone else other than Microsoft was going to work for him.
The couple talked about Bill’s predicament in the 2019 Netflix series Inside Bill’s Brain. According to Melinda, she caught her then-boyfriend listing the pros and cons of marrying her. On his part, Bill Gates explained that he “took the idea of marriage very seriously,” and the problem was not with Melinda, it was actually with his ability to balance work and family. After much deliberation, he finally proposed.
