Melinda rejected Bill when he first asked her out

By the time they got married, Bill Gates was already one of the richest men in the United States. Even when he first asked Melinda out, he was a successful entrepreneur but that did not convince Melinda to accept his invitation to go on a date.

As she recalled in a Facebook post in 2015, “When Bill first asked me out, he said, ‘I was thinking maybe we could go out two weeks from tonight.'” Her answer? She told him she did not consider him spontaneous enough for her. Take that Microsoft billionaire!
