Given their high transmission rate, experts warn that the new COVID-19 variants will become the dominant strain in the United States by March. “It’s not necessarily what’s going to happen everywhere, but this is the kind of path that we expect to see,” said Michael Johansson, PhD, a member of the CDC’s COVID-19 Response Team.

You didn’t mention which state you live in, but my mother lives in Florida and she contacted her county health department and has already received her vaccine. We live in Virginia and our county’s health department is pre-registering people under 65 for appointments when the vaccine is available for them. People with underlying conditions do not have to wait and, in our state, don’t need to provide medical proof of that condition. Hope this helps. Goood luck!
