Getting the vaccine in time
Since the vaccination program has started in December, we’ve been informed over and over again that it’s crucial that we get the vaccine doses within the recommended time interval in order to achieve the full 95-percent protection against the virus.
If you have concerns about not being able to receive the second dose of your COVID-19 vaccine within the recommended timeline, either 21 days after your first Pfizer dose or 28 days after your first Moderna dose, it’s not ok to get the second shot earlier than the recommended interval, warns the CDC.

MY WIFE AND I ARE OVER 70 AND NEITHER OF US HAVE BE CONTACTED. THE HOSPITAL SAID THAT WE SHOULD CONTACT OUR PRIMARY CARE DOCTOR AND THAT PERSON SHOULD TELL US WHEN WE WOULD GET OUR SHOT.

WE BOTH HAVE THINGS WRONG WITH US. SHE IS A DIABETIC AND HIGH BLOOD PRESURE. I HAVE PTSD AND HEAD TRAUMA AND ARTHRITIS PRETTY BAD, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, AND WE BOTH SUFFER FROM DEPRESSION. DO YOU RECOMMEND ANYTHING WE SHOULD DO OR NOT DO.
You didn’t mention which state you live in, but my mother lives in Florida and she contacted her county health department and has already received her vaccine. We live in Virginia and our county’s health department is pre-registering people under 65 for appointments when the vaccine is available for them. People with underlying conditions do not have to wait and, in our state, don’t need to provide medical proof of that condition. Hope this helps. Goood luck!
