What does this mean for truck drivers?
Things have already been put into motion, so to speak, with Waymo, a subsidiary company of Alphabet, already testing self-driving trucks to transport Google equipment, but there are also other companies who plan to do the same.
Unfortunately, the development of self-driving trucks will mean lost jobs for approximately 294,000 long-haul truck drivers in the next 25 years, according to a study carried out by the University of Pennsylvania.
