8 Things You Aren’t Allowed to Take on a Plane

6. Liquids, gels, & aerosols over 100 ml

For a lot of us, the 3-1-1 liquids rule doesn’t make any sense. Nobody understands how a tube of toothpaste can be seen as a threat. That’s weird, right? But there is a proper explanation behind this. Liquids can be used to make explosives. Of course, the TSA can’t inspect every bottle that contains a liquid, so to minimize risk, they take this protective measure.

This theory applies to powder as well. You have to understand that toothpaste is not the enemy. It’s that the passengers can carry other stuff in those tubes. That’s why liquids are restricted. Some liquid items are exceptions: meds, breast milk, and liquids for children and babies.

7.Candles

Unfortunately, candles are also considered liquids, so you are not allowed to take them up into the cabin with you. I know you might want to bring a romantic vibe on your vacation, but let this be in the hotel’s hands. It is also the case for tear gas, compressed gas, cleaning products, fire extinguishers, and peroxide.

So don’t bring your hair dye with you! Make sure you do this before you leave for vacation.
