You can sign up for Medicare

Medicare might not be perfect but it’s the closest thing older Americans have in terms of health care coverage. Compared to previous generations who did not benefit from any health insurance, seniors today can sign up for Medicare and make sure they don’t have to face their golden years without any medical care.

It’s important, however, to be informed and choose the best plan and policies in line with your priorities. For example, if you want to enroll in Medicare Part B, Medicare’s supplemental insurance, you have a six-month window, after you turn 65, to do so. If the window is no longer available, you might end up paying more in premiums or being rejected, warns the Retirement Living Information Center.
