You can go on a cruise
Fancy riding on a ginormous floating hotel, sunbathing during the day and playing games or dancing the night away with thousands of other tourists? Well, as a senior you can do all these things for a nicely discounted amount. Royal Caribbean, for instance, offers reduced prices for seniors aged 55 and older while Carnival Cruise Lines and other cruise ship companies also offer senior citizen discounts on selected sailings. Being an AARP member also adds up to the discount.
Contact cruise companies to find out their age requirements and the trips you can get discounts on.
You can explore Amtrak at a discount
Travelers who are 65 and older can explore Amtrak’s multitude of routes with a 10 percent discount. However, Amtrak’s Acela Express service between the District of Columbia and Boston is not included in the discount package.
Also, the discount doesn’t apply to business-class, first-class or sleeping accommodations. If you like traveling by bus, you’ll like the fact that Greyhound offers a 5 percent discount for passengers who are 62 or older.
