Warehouse workers
With more and more people doing their shopping online, there’s also a higher demand for orders to be fulfilled and delivered faster. Enter robots. The number of automated workers in warehouses has significantly increased in recent years, with huge retailers such as Amazon using robots on a large scale to help human workers with tasks such as picking and sorting inventory.
According to Amazon, which already uses more than 100,000 robots in its warehouses, the robots do not replace the humans but assist them in performing their tasks.
One other example of companies relying on automated workers is the online British grocery store Ocado. For the most part, one of their warehouses is operated by robots, who help process around65,000 orders a week and sort and arrange the products in the warehouse. The best part? Unlike humans, robots don’t need a break.
