
3. Sit in your chair the entire time
Sitting in your chair for several hours will make you feel extremely tired and stiff. Also, when you are on an airplane, you have a higher risk of developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This is a type of blood clot that frequently forms in your legs. In order to prevent that, it is better to stand up and walk around – of course, with your shoes on – for a few minutes.
If you are not able to leave your seat for a few minutes, you can stand up and do some simple stretches. You can lift your legs to your chest or you can twist in your chair from side to side. Try and move your body a bit every hour.
