It’s possible that you already practice this superstition without even realizing it. It implies that if you have money in your wallet (or your pocket) before the clock strikes midnight, you’ll have a prosperous year. What an amazing thing!
2. Be loud
Have you wondered why everybody wants to make noise on New Year’s Eve? Naturally, most parties are loud, and after a few drinks, everyone tends to chat a little bit more than usual. It is a significant holiday, after all. The practice of generating noise, however, actually has a history because it was thought to fend off evil spirits. So, for pleasure and good fortune, shout, let off fireworks, and beat pots and pans.
