13. Don’t cry!
Hold back your tears on January 1! I know it’s easier said than done, but crying is believed to create a bad tone for the new year in all cultures. Don’t waste your time thinking about bad things. Try to enjoy the party, play some fun New Year’s Eve games, and crack some lighthearted New Year’s jokes instead to have a good time and think positive thoughts.
Bottom line
I’m sure you’ve had many ups and downs in your efforts to make 2022 worthwhile. That’s fine, because you’re not alone on the boat. While all these superstitions may appear excessive, the only goal of the New Year’s Eve party is to have fun! It’s ok to take a step back from resolutions and anxiety-inducing activities that leave you overwhelmed and sad. Call your best friends and your family, gather at someone’s place, and try to relax and enjoy the moment.
Happy New Year!
