Pundits and analysts have been left scratching their heads by Trump’s ‘stand back and stand by’ comment. Stand by for what? Many viewers of this exchange have suggested that the president is not only endorsing far right groups but encouraging violence in the up coming election should the results not go his way, which he touched on again by highlighting voter fraud.
So, what did we learn from the debate last night? Firstly, that the age of decorum and dignity in the presidential debates is dead in the water and secondly that the only loser in last nights exchange was the American people as little to no policy discussion took place to move the country forward.
