2. Watch out mom! The turkey is in flames
“You better watch out, you better not cry. “Oops, wrong lyrics!” I bet these folks had a wonderful time roasting their turkey for Thanksgiving when almost the entire oven got on fire. But I’m curious what happened! And I hope they had at least one meal as backup for this culinary disaster.
Jokes aside, did you know that turkey wasn’t on the menu at the first Thanksgiving? Surprisingly, we were served goose, oysters, fish, and duck, along with delicious baked pumpkins and cranberries. For some people, maybe it was best to stick to these latter foods for this year’s menu. Because if you don’t know how to prepare the turkey accordingly, you never know when your kitchen may catch fire!

In 1965 we got married. My first Thanksgiving dinner and I cooked the Turkey with the bag of giblets still inside, well could have been worse.
