#5 The novelty of staying at a “normal” hotel
“It was kind of a fun experience. We stayed in a hotel. It was clean. It was, I think, a Holiday Inn… It’s funny when we go and travel. They don’t have five-star hotels there, but you go with it.”
This is not something made up, no matter how much some of us would like to think it is. While the former first lady has been a world-famous model and is accustomed to a certain level of luxury, we doubt that this has been her life’s standard, especially since she has also talked about her humble beginnings on multiple occasions.
Yet, in an interview with DuJour, when they were discussing her campaign travels with her husband during the campaigns, she made a mistake when talking about Iowa. After all, it seemed very peculiar to her that most electorates do not stay at five-star hotels! not to mention how arrogant it sounds and the bad reputation it gives you. While you may be used to a certain level of luxury, it doesn’t hurt to sleep in a normal hotel for one or two nights.
And sometimes the Holiday Inn is not that cheap, to begin with!
