Walking your dog
This may come as a shock but the fact is you’re taking a risk every time you take your Fido out for a walk. “Many people believe that if their dog has never bitten anyone in the past, they cannot be liable the first time that it does, which is a myth,” says Simeone. In most states, if your dog has ever barked at strangers or cars (which I’m sure it has, because that’s what most dogs do), then it can be considered aggressive and you can be held liable for its aggressive behavior.
What you can do instead: Make sure you keep your furry friend on a leash whenever you go outside. Many cities have laws that regulate this and breaking such laws will only get you in trouble. Not to mention that a leash can help you prevent an attack if your dog gets provoked and tries to bite someone.
