3 Things Putin and Hitler Have in Common

#2 They both do not care what happens to their people

This one speaks for itself, but it is good to also think about it. Back during the Second World War, when the end was in sight, Hitler was getting more and more fanatical and deluded. He did not care what would happen to the country; all he ever wanted was to make sure that the enemy would not get to win, and if this came at the cost of his own country, which he was trying to “protect,” it did not matter to him.

This is how he ended up destroying what was left of Germany’s infrastructure at the end of the war, as he did not want the other countries to be able to use it. However, those factories were what kept people in Germany afloat, and it would end up being a horrible decision. Hitler also did not care about people at that point, because he blamed them for losing the war, despite damning most of the population with his actions, forgetting to look into the mirror to see who was actually at fault there.

Putin was not as fanatical, but he has proven that he is just as deluded as Hitler on this front. While the sanctions against Russia due to its illegal war with Ukraine keep piling up, he keeps saying how the Russian economy is not suffering, despite the numbers disagreeing with him. Time and time again, he chose to isolate the country from the rest of the world, no matter the complications, just to continue with his plans.

And the sad truth is that both of these dictators did not care because it did not impact them. The rich and powerful continue to live just fine. But it is the common people who suffer from the cuts, and we will see the true repercussions they suffer in a year or two. If forcefully signing people up for war was not enough to show Putin does not care for his people, we don’t know what would.
