8. “google”

“Hey, what’s your Google password?” Uhm…google?” Don’t pick the obvious as your password. Despite the fact that it is a common word that is widely known, “google” has been chosen by almost 30% of the population in the past few years. You wonder why. Well, it’s easy to remember, it’s catchy, and who would think about it? Don’t act surprised; literally everyone knows it. And breaking it will be a piece of cake for a hacker.

9. “iloveyou”

You’re constantly thinking about your boy friend or your girl friend, right? Otherwise, why would you choose “iloveyou” as your password? Studies have revealed that these three most common words on the entire planet are picked by 60% of the American population as their main password. For what accounts? Maybe for all of them, since why bother creating different ones for each account when you can use a simple one?

Is your password on this list? If the answer is yes, then you might want to change it ASAP.

So after we listed some of the most common passwords ever used what steps should you take to set secure passwords that will prevent unauthorized users from accessing your accounts? See on the next page!

How about using as a password the name of a distant relative or a place you’ve never been to that you find easy to remember e.g. Antarctica999. Probably no one will guess this is your password.
