5. Tourism is huge
Everybody likes warm places, especially during vacations. But what if you’re planning to retire to a place like this and you discover that you can no longer enjoy silence and you’re surrounded by a LOT of tourists? I’d prefer a less crowded area where I could jog in peace or sit and read a book while the wind blew slowly. And that place is definitely not Florida! With more than 600 miles of beaches and warm weather year-round, the Sunshine State is a major tourist destination. Actually, this is the biggest factor that helps the state’s economy.
Let’s face it, you’re not the only one with the idea of relocating to Florida after retirement, and in the past few years, Florida’s population has grown by nearly 21 million, including 4.2 million residents. And by 2030, the numbers are expected to rise even more!
