2. American Barley Wine

This beer is much stronger than an American lager, but it’s tastier mostly because of how it’s made. This one is a beer that is mostly for connoisseurs. It was first made in 1975 by Anchor Brewing Co., which was immediately followed by another brewery called Sierra Nevada Brewing’s Bigfoot.

The American version has a more intense malt flavor, and it’s different compared to the English version because it has more assertive hop flavors. Yummy!

Beers made like this are usually a lot stronger than lagers, full-bodied and the color is pretty amazing too: light amber to medium copper.

If you haven’t tried this beer already, we say it’s a must!

  1. My favorite beers that are national brands. There are several local beers I enjoy.
    #1 Miller Lite
    #2 Amstel Lite
    #3 Stella Artois

  2. i thought paulaner was a wiesse bier, we’re talking bananas and cloves here. an american wheat such as urban wheat is different. a good wheat beer used to be island wheat from capitol brewing (madison, wi)

  3. My favorite beer is Modelo Especial and Negro, both are great beers. I also like pale ales, ipa but am not inclined to drink the stouts and very dark beers. I feel sure they have their own wonderful tastes but not for me. I have enjoyed beer for over 50 years and am so thankful I can still enjoy it and all that it brings to the table.
