2. Titanic’s reading room

At that time, Titanic’s first class was a place for the creme de la creme. It was a very luxurious place with a reading and writing space where it could fit more than 30 people at once. Can you imagine yourself as a passenger on the Titanic?

It could have been amazing to read in front of a fireplace and have a whole library for yourself. Too bad this was a tragedy.

It was estimated that almost $6 million worth of possessions went down with the Titanic.

And one of the first class passengers was John Jacob Astor IV. At that time, he was one of the richest people in the world. His life ended on that horrible night because of the children and women’s protocol.

  1. The sinking of the Titanic left an indelible mark to my memory. I first saw the movie, “A night to remember”, when I was a little kid. The movie left a lasting impression on me of that tragic day. I felt the horror that it must have been for the people going down with the ship. The many lives lost and the memories of the people who died that day. Thank you for sharing the pictures of the Titanic.

  2. Three Jewish bankers who opposed the creation of the Federal Reserve were on the Titanic. They never got to oppose it.

  3. Sad story indeed, but I have to call BS on the “picture of the last boat leaving.” The Titanic sank in the middle of the night, but there’s the sheen of sunlight on the water around the boat. And it doesn’t matter to me who took the picture, I want to know who developed the film? Good try guys but that dog won’t hunt.

  4. The Titanic is why I believe in fate. My then 17-year-old grandmother was scheduled to come to America with her parents and siblings aboard the Titanic. Something happened at the last minute, and they came over a week earlier on another ship. If my grandmother was on the Titanic I most likely would not be here. They weren’t 1st class passengers, and they weren’t steerage either.
