Membership fees are on the rise
The perks of being a member of a warehouse club don’t come cheap. As of 2017, Costco’s annual membership fees increased in the U.S. and Canada. Gold Star and Business memberships increased by$5, to $60, while the annual membership for executive-level members increased $10 to $120.
The Gold Star membership can be bought by anyone for personal purchases while the Business membership is exclusively for verified business owners, allowing them to make business purchases and bulk purchases for resale.
The Executive members benefit from the same things as the Gold Star and Business members plus some extra privileges. One example being that they can earn an annual 2% reward on most purchases (the maximum reaching $1,000) which can be used for future Costco purchases. In addition, they get all sorts of discounts on various Costco services including travel services.
