Don’t disregard price tags
If you don’t know this by now, Costco has a price tag coding system that could help you lower your grocery bills and save big time. For instance, a lot of items are not widely advertised as markdowns but with the right information, it’s easy to figure them out: Pay attention to items with a price that ends with “.97”. This means they’re on clearance so buying them could help you score bigger savings.
One other tip: if you see a price tag with an asterisk (—>*<—), this means the product will not be restocked so it might be a good idea to squirrel away for those rainy days. However, if we’re talking about food or other items with a short lifespan, as appealing as the markdown might be, think twice before filling up your cart to the brim. These products are highly likely to expire before you’ve had the opportunity to consume them and there’s nothing more frustrating than wasting something you’ve paid your hard-earned money for.
