More time spent at home made people want to improve their surroundings, optimize their working environment, set up their home offices, create cozier rooms and fun outdoor options. By May 2020, the average customer spending per month skyrocketed by 43 percent to $260 per person. As the lockdowns and shelter-on-place orders continued, people also continued their home improvement projects, with furniture sites seeing record sales by the end of the year.
And the upward trend seems to have made its way into 2021 as well.
