5. Shaw’s
Shaw is also owned by Albertsons, so the situation is somehow similar to Safeway. There are about 150 stores throughout New England, where the first store was opened in 1860.
It seems that the store has had a bad reputation since the coronavirus pandemic, when it didn’t really adhere to preventive measures. Back to the present, shoppers aren’t usually very satisfied with the way employers handle cleaning-related tasks.
4. Marc’s
Marc’s Stores is a drugstore and grocery chain with stores in central and northern Ohio. There are over 60 stores in the Cleveland, Canton, Dayton, Columbus, Akron, and Youngstown areas.
While Marc’s gets a CR reader rating of 77—higher than others on this list—it’s the first grocery store on this list to get a bad cleanliness rating from Consumer Reports. They addressed cleanliness issues multiple times during the coronavirus pandemic, and while the store tried to solve them, there’s plenty of room for improvement.
