Cost-Sharing
Did you know that some Medicare Advantage plans use a cost-sharing approach so they can cover dental benefits such as these extremely expensive dental implants? There are two types of plans: ones that cover the majority of the costs, and the ones that require flat co-pays. Others prefer charging a flat coinsurance rate of 20% to a maximum of 70% for any extensive dental service.
Caps and Limits
Medicare Advantage plans that have extensive dental benefits usually cap the total amount provided. Most of these plans have a certain limit of about $1,000. So these plans are limiting the number of services that can be covered as well.
