2. Casey’s

Casey’s is a chain of convenience stores in the Southern and Midwestern part of the United States of America. As of April 2019, the company has over 2,000 stores in 16 states.

In 1959, Donald Lamberti had leased a station from his father, that was used for service in Des Moines, Iowa. He remodeled the station and turned it into a convenience store, which he operated successfully for 9 years. After that, one of his friends, and also his gasoline supplier, named Kurvin C. Fish, suggested that Lamberti should buy a service station in Boone, Iowa, named Square Deal Oil Company.

Donald Lamberti thought his friend’s idea was good and smart, so he decided to listen to it. He purchased the building and named it “Casey’s”, after Kurvin’s name. Afterward, he remodeled the station and transformed it into a convenience store.

Nowadays, the store is very much appreciated by drivers for its delicious food, which is actually made there. You can choose from a large variety, including doughnuts and pizza.

Pro tip: If you are planning on stopping by one of Casey’s stores, make sure you try their breakfast pizza, because they are really popular for this dish!

1. Kwik Trip

Kwik Trip is a chain of convenience stores that were founded in 1965, based in Wisconsin and Minnesota. You can find the same stores in other states, such as Illinois and Iowa, but under the name Kwik Star.

This particular gas station store was chosen as number 1 due to its large variety of products. You can find bagged milk and orange juice, straight from its in-house dairy. All the milk that is found in the store gets bottled in no longer than 24 hours after reaching the Kwik Trip dairy.

Other than that, Kwik Trip also has an internal bakery, which provides doughnuts and muffins, sliced and wrapped bread, and also a store brand snack line, “Urge”.
