Streaming services

It’s no secret most of us have spent a lot of our time in lockdown binge-watching movies and TV shows on Netflix, Hulu and the like. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that some of the most popular streaming services have already increased some prices in December and announced higher costs in 2021 as well.

For instance, Hulu’s live tv service became $10 more expensive on Dec. 18, 2020, from $55 to $65. As for Netflix, the standard and premium plans of the successful streaming company grew by $1 and $2, respectively. Disney announced their intentions to increase its subscription services from $7 to $8 a month in March 2021.

Amid the chaos and fears caused by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the delivery sector emerged as a savior and became the lifeline of other businesses devastated by the COVID-19 restrictions, such as the hospitality sector. Not to mention it simplified all our lives during lockdown and prevented us from going out ourselves for groceries and other things that we needed.

UPS, the U.S. Postal Service, FedEx and other companies had more than doubled their delivery capacity and revenues. But this will not stop them from raising the delivery fees a bit more in 2021. The Postal Service has already announced an average increase of 4.9% in 2021, with DHL, UPS, and FedEx all planning to grow their shipping rates by the same percentage.
