Leverage your emotions
Spending too much money is related to emotional issues one has. Many of us buy things we do not really need out of impulse because we are sad and want to feel better. So, if spending money is correlated with the emotional side, try to use it to your advantage.
How to do that? Try to think of a financial goal you have, this could be buying a new house or saving for a vacation for example. Now imagine how it would make you feel achieving that goal. By doing this, all in between will be totally worth it, because the feeling of finally having something you really wanted for a long period of time makes you want to do whatever it takes.
Bonus tip: You can use this strategy for your retirement savings, too.
