All these things happened before the US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Yang Jiechi, China’s most important diplomat met in Rome to talk about this issue.
According to many media outlets, Sullivan stated that it is important to preserve the communication lines between China and the United States in these uncertain times.
In conformity with an interview from CNN, the US National Security Adviser said that the country was “communicating directly, privately to Beijing and that there will absolutely be consequences for large-scale sanctions evasion efforts or support to Russia to backfill them”.
The official added that they won’t accept and allow China to go forward with their willingness to offer military help to Russia.
