Before Donald Trump even became the 45th president of the US, Vladimir Putin declared himself as being very impressed regarding his campaign.
At the end of 2015, the disputed Russian chief publicly affirmed Trump is nothing but “an absolute leader of the presidential race, as we see it”.
We all know that it is not polite to be admired and say nothing in return, and Donald Trump knows that as well. He gave Putin a response, in which he said that “it is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond”.
…What do you think about this waterfall of compliments?
2. “A” in leadership
In 2015, Russia got the military involved in an intervention in the Syrian civil war. The Russian president endorsed Bashar al-Assad, the country’s chief.
Trump was curious about this and he got informed regarding all these events. He stated that even though he is not a fan of the political regime that is used in Russia, he had to admit that Putin deserved an “A” in leadership. Trump added the fact that the Russian politician knows how to discipline and control his country.
In addition to that, Trump compared Putin to the then-actual president of the United States, Barack Obama. “I don’t happen to like the system, but certainly in that system he’s been a leader, far more than our president has been a leader”, he said.
