1. USA

The statistics for home make for grim reading since the first coronavirus case was confirmed on the 21st of January, and the cases have surged from the second half of February. Covid-19 cases more than doubled in three days, to cross 1,700 on 12 March, while the death toll reached 40.

Of those 40 deaths in the country, 31 had occurred in the state of Washington, with 13 of those at a nursing home.[4] Cases have been confirmed in 47 out of the 50 U.S. states, and the District of Columbia.

Coupled with the alarming number of cases is the fact that the spreading of this virus could be compounded by delays in testing or a lack of testing kits available across the country.

2. China

China has so far been the worst affected country, and is suspected to be the likely originator of the novel coronavirus (nCoV) outbreak, officially named Covid-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO),

China has suffered over 3,000 deaths and approximately 74% of the global coronavirus cases as of March the 9th, which shot down to approximately 67% by 11 March as the number of cases in rest of the world surged.

Hubei is the most-affected province within China and Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei, is the city affected worst by the coronavirus. Hubei has witnessed more than 67,000 coronavirus-positive cases as of 11 March.

With China almost certainly being the host country, it is encouraging to note that the number of cases had been on the decline since the beginning of March due to the Chinese government finally implementing rapid control measures.

3. Iran

Iran, never short on controversy, has been another country that has been identified as a possible spreader of Covid-19 as a number of countries have traced their coronavirus-infected having contracted the disease during travel to Iran.

Iran is also being accused of delaying acknowledgement the spread of coronavirus in their country and under-reporting the cases. Currently, the numbers in Iran stand at 10,075 confirmed cases and a recorded 429 deaths. Many government officials and politicians including MPs in Iran have contracted coronavirus, some of who died.
