1. You Can Actually Freeze Costco Bakery’s Giant Muffins
Costco’s bakery isn’t just famous for selling baked goods in bulk—the warehouse store also sells massive, oversized baked goods in bulk. Its pumpkin pie, for example, weighs about four pounds and can easily feed a crowd of 12 adults—it’s pretty huge.
This isn’t the only huge baked product though. Costco also sells massive muffins, which are very delicious. They come in a pack of 12, so it’s clearly hard to eat them all before they start to go bad. I was talking with a friend of mine precisely about this, and she gave me a great idea. She said she stores some of those muffins in the freezer, and the method works wonders.
Now she no longer tosses out muffins, as they don’t go stale anymore. I’ll try doing the same thing to see how it goes. She recommended using a freezer-safe bag, as they have a tight seal to prevent odor and flavor transfer between packages.
But here’s one more tip: if you want to defrost your muffins faster, put them in the microwave at 50% power. Not only will they defrost, but they will also become slightly warm.
