5. The Orpheum Theatre in New Bedford Massachusetts

Back in the day, the Orpheum Theatre was a very popular location because of its architecture but also for the events that were held there. The theatre had its grand opening in 1912 on April 15th, and the coincidence is that on the same day, the Titanic sank. This space had a big ballroom, a shooting range, and a room for gymnastics, all of which made it the most popular space in New Bedford. Unfortunately, it was closed in 1962 with a lower chance of being reopened, mostly because a lot of people claimed the place was haunted.

The theatre is currently owned by a non-profit organization and some rumors say that they plan to restore it and make it a public theatre like it used to be. But these are just words because the discussions regarding this were long before the COVID pandemic.
