Detergent
These household products are as common as they can be. But just because they can be found in every American household doesn’t mean they are also good. In fact, detergents can contain harmful chemicals that can lead to serious health issues.
For instance, laundry detergents include certain enzymes which can be toxic if swallowed, they can cause skin and eye irritations and increase your vulnerability to other chemicals. Overexposure to detergent has also been linked to respiratory problems such as asthma.
The alternative, as suggested by the Cleveland Clinic, is to opt for homemade laundry detergent, which is just as efficient but a lot cheaper than the store-bought versions.
