3. We experienced Star Wars for the first time with zero expectations
Wow! What a time to be alive! Having the pleasure of finally being able to get a ticket to the cinema and experience seeing Star Wars for the first time was amazing! I can’t even describe the feelings I had while watching it because I honestly had no idea how this movie was going to change our lives.
Because nobody had any preconceptions about Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker, nobody told us anything, because there was no internet to spoil our experience, and honestly, this is the best film trilogy ever made. And sadly, no other generation will ever experience this again.
4. Music came in vinyl, cassette, and 8-track
Do you remember when we used to rewind the cassettes with a pencil? They weren’t the most user-friendly audio formats, but we loved them because we didn’t have anything else. And the audio quality was pretty “sick”! Cassettes were for music on the go, and vinyl was made for home listening. The ability to hold onto an album sleeve or turn over a cassette to reach your favorite song makes the entire music-listening experience feel more intimate and meaningful.
What was your first album that you bought on vinyl? Tell us in the comments!

Women weren’t hung up on body hair! Now they look horrible.
soooooo true!
I had this (and more) in the 50’s and my kids had this in the 70’s – BUT by the time my grand kids came around in the 90’s it was a whole different world. I wouldn’t let them play outside in the FRONT YARD unless I could see them and they certainly couldn’t go by themselves around the CORNER to the park alone! Good God, I had no idea who could be there that could have an unhealthy interest in a blond hair blue eyed little girl! It’s all changed and my GREAT grand kids now wouldn’t even THINK about knocking on a friend’s door to go play unless a “play date” was set up. What childhood has lost is sad. And the lack shows up as they grow to nervous unself-assured adults who often have trouble making ANY decisions without help, much less good decisions, because they never had the chance to do things and possibly fail and learn from them.
