Projections show the first and last countries to achieve herd immunity
According to Bloomberg’s projections, Israel has the highest vaccination rate in the world and will succeed in vaccinating 75 of its population in the next two months. Based on recently available data, the United States will achieve this percentage at the end of 2021, in time to kick off 2022 on a great note.
On the other hand, other countries such as China, Chile, and Canada are all projected to reach herd immunity in about five years. This is the best-case scenario, but numbers are slightly volatile and can be affected by temporary events such as unexpected weather events (the Texas blizzard, for instance) or delayed vaccine shipments.
