5. Use your oxygen mask correctly!
In most cases (if not every case), if something bad happens, the masks drop quickly from above, and you have to put them on your face as soon as possible. Don’t believe those YouTube videos or strange articles that claim you can go an hour without wearing an oxygen mask because they are false! Mental impairment can be caused by only 5 seconds of oxygen deprivation!
Pay attention to the plane personnel when they show you the safety instructions on how to use an oxygen mask!
6. Take the brace position
It may seem absurd to think about brace positions; after all, there’s no way curling up into a ball will help you survive a plane crash, does there? However, studies have shown that brace placement actually increases the likelihood of surviving a rescue crash landing. When you inevitability crash into the seating in front of you, these positions help lessen the force with which your head strikes the seat. Don’t forget to wear your seatbelt as well! Ensure that it is firmly placed across your lap.
