5. Standing with crossed arms
Standing in front of someone with crossed arms can give off some subliminal messages, whether you want them to or not. This happens because crossing your arms over your chest while someone is talking to you signals defensiveness and resistance.
To appear more approachable and less rude, we recommend keeping your arms comfortably down at your sides.
6. Making people feel bad about not knowing something
Many people have a skill they excel at and that makes them proud. But having expertise or being better than others in the same room doesn’t allow you to make them feel bad. Instead of mocking them, try taking a second to think about how you’d want them to treat you if you switched places.
Try to listen to others who are less prepared than you or even less educated.
Maybe they have a different life situation, and responding politely to their questions will actually make you friendly and seen with good eyes.
