Unvaccinated people are the most vulnerable at these gatherings

As explained by the CDC, vaccinated people have a lower risk of contracting and spreading the virus to other people. On the other hand, unvaccinated people who attend large-sized indoor gatherings with people outside their household have higher chances of catching COVID and transmitting it to others.

The CDC recommends vaccinated people to err on the side of caution when meeting with unvaccinated people “or visiting with unvaccinated people who have people at increased risk for severe disease in their own households”. Vaccinated or not, those who tested positive for COVID should remain in isolation for at least 10 days before meeting other people or attending any gathering.
