Hugh Hefner
“It’s nice to look back on very sweet moments. I just think I’m very, very blessed.”
These were the last known words of the famous founder and editor-in-chief of Playboy magazine, in his last interview before his death on September 27, 2017, at the age of 91.
Hefner founded Playboy magazine in 1953 and turned the Playboy trademark into one of the most recognized trademarks in the world. He was a strong supporter of sexual liberation and freedom of expression, as well as a political activist and philanthropist.
The owner of the Playboy Empire died at the Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, California after going into cardiac arrest and suffering from respiratory failure and his death was announced by the Playboy Enterprise. Hefner’s health condition had also deteriorated due to a recent E.coli infection and Septicemia, both contributing to his death, according to Hefner’s death certificate released by the authorities.
