Metal rivets in denim jeans
Surprisingly, the small metal rivets we see in our jeans are not just for design. They were deliberately created and placed in areas where jeans were at risk of ripping apart.
Nowadays, we might purchase a pair of jeans for the way it makes our legs longer or our butts rounder but in the old days, jeans were worn by farmers, miners, ranchers, laborers and other workers, which meant they had to be wear-resistant. No one wanted to have their jeans fall apart when they least expected it. Hence the metal rivets to strengthen them in strategic areas!
