7. McDonald’s Happy Meal
The renowned Happy Meal was introduced by McDonald’s in the late 1970s. It was initially only a hamburger, a few little fries, a box of cookies, and a toy. Even children of succeeding generations recognize the joy of a Happy Meal, although the contents have altered somewhat since then.
8. Cheese Tid-Bits!
Were you a fan of Cheesy Tid-Bits? These delicious cookies were in stick form, making them a bit different from the competition. They were sold for quite a while, but they can’t be found anywhere now. I guess we’ll just have to stick with Goldfish and Cheez-its.
9. Space Snacks
If you were worried about calories when you snacked, then perhaps you tried these. At only 44 calories per stick, they were really as light as a feather! Pillsbury trademarked them in 1970, and they were the best nutritionally balanced stick of protein, carbs, and fat. You could have chosen from three flavors such as peanut butter, chocolate, and caramel, but unfortunately they disappeared from the shelves in the 1980s.
Did you like them? Which one was your favorite?
Please leave a comment letting us know what other snacks were available in 1970 and what we missed.
