Breath syncing
To most of us, breathing is a normal physical process that takes place without us giving it much thought. If your subconscious helps you take 12 to 20 breaths per minute, consider it a job well done. But sometimes your subconscious might play tricks on you and put an idea inside your head: what if your only hope at breathing right is to do it in set patterns? Or…sync your breathing to the music you are listening to?
When a physical process becomes a mind-altering and confusing daily experience, it makes all the rest of us think that maybe we should not take breathing for granted anymore. People with this disorder, also known as the sensorimotor obsession or body-focused obsession, certainly don’t have it easy.
Love for pillows
Most people have a weakness for pillows: some of us like them soft, some like them firm, some like them flat while others love the fluffy ones. And then there are the people who love their pillows so much that want to get completely covered in them.
For the claustrophobic bunch, being covered in pillows sounds like something straight from a scary movie; but for pillow lovers, life can’t get any better than having pillows all around them even when doing mundane activities such as watching TV or just lying in bed. Not to mention their special pillows to hug when they’re sleeping (if they’re not driving, that is!).
