10. You have a fever
Fever is the body’s response to an infection or illness. This is why cancer patients will often develop a high fever. However, bear in mind that fever is rarely a cancer symptom, it only occurs in those who suffer from leukemia or lymphoma, which are both blood cancer.
That being said, if you have a high fever that persists and doesn’t go away or if it comes in cycles, you should be alarmed. Call your doctor, explain the symptoms to him/her, how often this happens and when it started.
Bear in mind that it can come and go, so if, for a few days or even weeks, the fever has dropped, don’t assume it’s something else.
