7. Language
The majority of people in both countries are English speakers. Of course, there are some distinctions between American and Canadian English, but not that much. One could understand the other. For example, Canadians call shoes “running shoes” simply runners. An American will wear a beanie instead of a toque in the winter time. It’s funny, right?
On the other hand, in Canada, there are some provinces like Quebec that are dominated by French-speakers. Have you ever been to Canada?
8. Housing Style
Usually, Canadians aren’t fans of big houses, and their homes are smaller than those in the United States. Most Canadian homes also feature basements, which are necessary since there are telecommunications that run below ground and need to be protected from the elements. And they also tend to have large patios or sunbeds in the back to increase the living area.
In the United States, people want to have big properties. You know, the more the merrier. And our backyards are amazing, for sure! Only in densely populated areas of the United States do residences have more than one level.
Takeaway:
There is no doubt that the United States is a more powerful superpower and the cost of living is much more expensive than Canada. But usually, people in the US and Canada have similar incomes. Overall, it is obviously more affordable to live in a metropolitan city in Canada compared to New York or California, for example. However, if you want to move into one of these two, it might be difficult to choose.
Both countries are beautiful, and there are a lot of nice places to visit.
